Where our History Began

The founding of the College was a result of a deep burden and impression on the heart of the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mr. Isaac Maikasuwa Ogara. In 1994, there about, He had the strong burden to start a secondary school, given the falling standard of education in the public schools compared with the standard of the seventies and early eighties. The breakdown in standards follows a general breakdown in the Nigerian Economy and governance, which led to social decadence, decay in morality and corruption that had befallen the open society and threatened future generations. Godliness and uprightness in society was also threatened. It was against this backdrop that the challenge became obvious especially in the newly created Nasarawa State of Nigeria. The challenge of raising Christian children in these public (state) secular schools whose foundation of morality was low, and lacking sufficient room for moral training, made the call even more imperative and urgent.

Mr. Ogara decided to pursue the vision was a family project after an earlier attempt to recruit some Brethren to join failed. He however shared it with his friend Mr. Blessing Chammang just as information who however took interest and decided he would join in the project even if it meant making only financial investment. This made Mr. Ogara consider opening up again to more friends. As a result, Mr. Changbol Zitta welcomed the idea. These three agreed to start making contributions towards the project from March 2001 which they had hoped could take-off by September, 2001 which later shifted to September 2002. Mrs Hannatu Monday join in the project shortly before take-off. These members are the registered Directors of the school. The directors then felt appointed a higher Advisory body of more senior and respected Christians whose experience and wisdom and guidance, could be drawn upon for the benefit of the institution, and therefore appointed a Board of Trustees, made of Ambassador Polycarp Azige as Chairman, Engr. Esalla Abimiku – Deputy Chairman, Mr. Stephen Barau – member, Barr. Victor Tukura – member, and Mr. David Ijim – member.
